History

Phil Postema began a small business of door-to-door hand-lettering in the late 1950s. He offered hand-lettering of mailboxes and grocery store sale posters. Eventually, his talents led him to expand his business to include vehicle lettering, which grew into a large operation of fleet truck and trailer painting. The business provided painting and graphic services for corporations such as Steelcase and Gordon Food Service.

In 1988, Phil sold his company but retained the Postema name to pursue a new venture with a focus on exterior electrical signage and tradeshow fabrication. Vehicle graphics remained a large part of the business.

Postema Sign has maintained a strong presence in the community. Because Phil had a heart for giving, he was always willing to help non-profit organizations with donations of signage whenever possible. After Phil’s passing in 2004, Postema Sign has carried on with his legacy by continuing to serve our community.
